Policy / Procedure:

C.A.R.S. is governed by a Volunteer Management Board which approves the policies and procedures by which we operate in conjunction with meeting provincial standards as required by Persons with Developmental Disabilities (P.D.D.) and other relevant government departments.

A copy of the Policy and Procedure Manual is available at our office and most residences, which can be accessed upon request at any time. Policies reflect a variety of issues like human rights, health and medical care, positive interactions and staff training requirements, to name a few.
Appeals:

1. If there is a concern regarding service delivery it is recomĀmended that it be discussed with the Supervisor of the service.

2. If attempts to resolve the issue are unsatisfactory it can be discussed with the Executive Director who will investigate the concerns and provide a response within one week.

3. If the matter is still not resolved to the individual's satisfaction it may be appealed in writing to the Board of Directors, who will respond within one week of receiving the appeal.

4. If there is still dissatisfaction with the outcome from C.A.R.S., there is a Dispute Resolution Process available through Persons with Developmental Disabilities. A copy of this process will be provided to the individual by C.A.R.S.
